(CelebrityAccess) — After he appears to have been caught on video assaulting his then-girlfriend at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, rapper and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs issued an apology that appears to confirm his involvement in the incident.

The video, which was released by CNN on Friday, appears to show Combs, wearing just a towel around his waist, kicking, shoving, and grabbing Cassie Ventura, who he was involved with romantically at the time.

“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said in a statement posted to Instagram on Sunday. “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” he continued. “I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

The allegations of abuse first became public in November after Combs was sued by Ventura in a civil suit that has since been settled for an undisclosed amount.

At the time, Combs strenuously denied the allegations in the suit, which included alleged physical abuse. Since then, other alleged victims have come forward, making similar claims against the former rap legend.

His accusers include producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who alleged that Combs abused him over a year-long period when he lived at Combs’ home, working on music, and Liza Gardner, who alleges that she was pressured into drinking and sex after meeting Combs at an MCA party in 1990 or 1991.
