LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) – Phish, the legendary jam band, just wrapped their four show run at The Sphere in Las Vegas, performing each night in front of fully sold-out crowds and drawing rave reviews from the press.
For each of the four shows, Phish employed a unique setlist for a total of sixty-eight songs performed across four days, leveraging the Sphere’s 1,600 permanent speakers, as well as 300 mobile speaker modules that use 3D audio beamforming and wave field synthesis technology to highlight the band’s musicianship.
The shows included unique visual components as well, with co-creative directors Abigail Rosen Holmes and Moment Factory’s Jean-Baptiste Hardoin overseeing the custom graphic displays that were presented on Sphere’s massive 160,000-square foot 16K-by-16K LED screen.
Additionally, the shows also featured immersive original entrance music created especially for Sphere’s atrium and hallways by Phish’s Trey Anastasio.
“The veteran jam band from Vermont took full advantage of the technological capabilities…Phish’s production wasn’t about excess or grandiosity; it was homey, friendly, deeply quirky…For Phish, perhaps music’s biggest cult band, Sphere wasn’t a means of self-glorification but of community-building…with no fear of being overshadowed by the room, Phish leaned into Sphere’s immersive potential,” the Los Angeles Times said in its review of the show.
Following their 4-night stand at The Sphere, Phish will be hitting the road this summer for a tour in support of their 16th studio album, “Evolve” which is due in stores and on streaming on July 16th.
The tour kicks off with a three-night stand at Mansfield, MA’s Xfinity Center (July 19-21) and is scheduled to conclude with Phish’s traditional Labor Day concert series at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado on Labor Day Weekend.
This summer will see also Phish hosting Mondegreen, a four-day festival set for August 15-18 at The Woodlands in Dover, DE. For the festival, Phish will perform a headlining set each night along with a selection of special guests and friends. The festival will also feature an array of interactive fan experiences, specially curated regional food and drink, art installations, and much more.
