NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess)—On 4/20, music enthusiasts are in for a treat as Grammy-nominated Americana artist Hayes Carll and Gold-selling rock group The Band of Heathens unveil their latest collaboration, “Nobody Dies From Weed.” Released today under the collective name Hayes & The Heathens, the song offers a timely message celebrating the recreational use of marijuana.
Carll and Driver Williams pen the 4/20-friendly song, “Nobody Dies From Weed,” which delivers a laid-back vibe and a reassuring assertion: despite life’s myriad risks, cannabis isn’t among them. The track combines musical styles, blending Americana, rock ‘n’ roll, folk, country, and blues. Williams offers the message, “There’s a million ways to make the grave, but nobody dies from weed. While we’re not technically doctors, we did our own research and found this mostly true. You’re welcome!”
Hayes & The Heathens isn’t merely a pairing of Carll and The Band of Heathens; it’s a unified powerhouse led by Carll alongside The Heathens’ Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist. Their collaboration is built on mutual respect and shared experiences, with the artists’ paths crossing multiple times. Notably, their creative journey culminated in a memorable jam session in Luckenbach, Texas, back in October 2023.
“We had such a blast collaborating and playing together out in Luckenbach that we wanted to take this on the road and share it with more people,” says Quist.
