DARLINGTON, UK (CelebrityAccess — Ewen MacIntosh, a Welsh actor best known for his role on the British version of the popular sitcom “The Office” has died. He was 50.
His death was announced on social media by his management: “With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh.”
A cause of death for MacIntosh was not disclosed but multiple British media outlets reported that he had been suffering from health challenges during the last two years. In 2022, he shared an image of himself in a hospital undergoing testing from a heart machine along with a caption that read “Bad times for me I’m afraid chums. Stay strong out there.”
A native of Merionethshire, MacIntosh attended the University of Edinburgh, where he was a member of the school’s theater company.
His first big break came in 2001 when he was cast as Keith Bishop in the original British version of the sitcom “The Office.”
His other roles included films such as Finding Fatimah (2017) and The Bromley Boys (2018).
He also performed live comedy, joining Tim FitzHigham in a double act, appearing at events such as Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival and at the West End theatrical show Geek! A New Musical in 2013.
MacIntosh also served as a presenter for various music programs on Now 80s and Now 90s.
According to the statement from his manager, MacIntosh will be memorialized a private cremation for family & close friends with a celebratory memorial planned for later in the year.
