NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Sheryl Cohen, the Head of Strategic Planning for the indie label trade association A2IM, announced that she will be stepping own from her role at the organization this year.
A2IM’s longest-serving member, Cohen joined the trade association in 2010 as Operations Manager and has since held multiple senior roles, including strategic administrator and creative project manager. Her final day at A2IM will be Friday, Aug 2, 2024.
“As I turn 55, I am looking at the next chapter of life with profound gratitude and excitement for what’s to come,” Cohen said. “It’s not a mid-life crisis, but rather, in the words of Chip Conley, a mid-life chrysalis. I am creating an opportunity to transition to a new career where I can serve the other communities and passions in my life, and hopefully continue to make a positive impact.”
“I am grateful to Jim Mahoney for hiring me and to Dr. Richard James Burgess for giving me the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive, nurturing environment,” Cohen added.
“When I took this job, Sheryl had taken a break from A2IM,” noted President and CEO, Dr. Richard James Burgess. “As a longtime member and board member at the time, I felt she was an important part of the ethos of the organization so I asked her to come back. She has been here ever since and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I have had to know her and to work with her for the past eight years. Sheryl is an uplifting person to work alongside, she may be the most honest person I have ever met, and her work on diverse projects such as our budgeting, grant applications, and the curation of Indie Week have been cornerstones of A2IM’s success and growth. I know she will do even more significant work as she emerges from her ‘chrysalis’ in the second half of her life and career.”
