CHARLOTTE, SC (CelebrityAccess) — DA Worldwide, Warner Music Group’s independent label and artist services division, announced the formation of a new distribution deal with South Coast Music Group (SCMG).
Founded by label industry vet Arnold Taylor, the Charlotte-based SCMG is currently the label home to multiple up-and-coming hip-hop stars, including Dustystaytrue, DeeYounginn, Luclover, and Big Mali, who is fresh from a supporting role on Sexxy Red’s nationwide tour in late 2023.
Taylor’s resume includes stints at Epic, Republic, Interscope, Def Jam, and Blackground Records before he launched SCMG in 2014 as an extension of his South Coast Marketing group. Since launch, the label has platformed regional up-and-comers with recent releses from TiaCorine, Goldiie Lux, and more.
The deal with ADA is the label’s first partnership with a major international distributor, expanding the SCMG’s reach with fans.
Along with Taylor, the SCMG team includes EVP, Head of A&R Daud Carter, Head of Creative & Merch Davian Hall, Craig Martin, the label’s Head of Radio Promotions, and VP of Marketing & Operations Garrett Williams.
“Arnold is an entrepreneur who had a vision and carved his own unique path in the industry. A decade in, and South Coast is thriving. We’re thrilled he’s entrusted ADA to support and grow his business and put our firepower behind the rich talent coming out of the Carolinas. We share a deep love for the music and can’t wait to help these artists break through and connect with fans everywhere,” stated Cat Kreidich, ADA’s President.
“SCMG is excited to begin our partnership with ADA. Their goals, persistence, drive, and perseverance match our SCMG brand. This will only strengthen our journey to SUCCESS we are embarking on!” Taylor added.
