LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – The TOTALLY TUBULAR FESTIVAL, set to make its North American debut this summer, is gaining momentum and expanding its reach to additional markets due to the overwhelming response from fans. Jon Pleeter, the CPO (Chief Party Officer) of the upcoming fest, excitedly shares, “Sales in our initial 17 markets have been so strong that I decided to add new markets and invite more friends to the party.”
The festival, celebrating the vibrant sounds of the early to mid-1980s, has witnessed a surge in ticket sales, prompting this expansion. The lineup for the 2024 tour includes Thomas Dolby, Tom Bailey of Thompson Twins, Modern English (select markets), Men Without Hats, The Romantics, Bow Wow Wow, Tommy Tutone (select markets), and The Plimsouls. In an exciting update, Wang Chung has been added to the Huntsville, AL, and Washington DC shows, bringing an additional layer of ’80s musical nostalgia to these specific performances.
Thomas Dolby: Renowned for hits like “She Blinded Me with Science,” Dolby’s influence extends beyond the ’80s, making him a respected figure in music production.
Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey: A key contributor to the Thompson Twins’ success, Bailey’s versatile musical journey goes beyond the ’80s synth-pop era.
Modern English (select markets): Known for the timeless “I Melt with You,” they played a pivotal role in the post-punk and new wave scene.
Men Without Hats: Synonymous with the ’80s synth-pop era, they left an indelible mark with their infectious hit “The Safety Dance.”
The Romantics: The Romantics, with their energetic rock and power pop, delivered anthems like “What I Like About You,” remaining a cherished part of rock history.
Bow Wow Wow: Fronted by Annabella Lwin, its unique blend of new wave and tribal beats made them stand out in the ’80s music scene.
Tommy Tutone (select markets): Achieving fame with “867-5309/Jenny,” Tutone’s catchy tunes solidified their place in pop culture.
