NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has entered into a new collaboration with Country music singer/songwriter and superstar Morgan Wallen through a global publishing deal. Notably honored as the Songwriter of the Year at the 2023 BMI Country Awards, Wallen has left an indelible mark on the music landscape with chart-topping hits such as “Chasin You,” “7 Summers,” “You Proof,” and “Thought You Should Know.” The partnership extends Wallen’s creative reach and allows him to sign songwriters in conjunction with WCM.

One of Wallen’s standout achievements is his third studio album, One Thing At A Time, which broke a 30-year record by securing the most weeks at the summit of the Billboard 200 chart for a country album. Luminate’s 2023 Year End Report attests to the album’s massive success, registering 5.362 million Total Album Equivalent Consumption (TAC) Units and an impressive 6.357 billion on-demand audio streams.

In addition to his accolades, Wallen’s commitment to supporting fellow songwriters is a noteworthy aspect of this partnership. His dedication to the craft is exemplified in his statement: “In many ways, I feel like I’ve always been a songwriter first, and because of that, the publishing community is especially close to my heart.” This sentiment underscores his desire to enhance his creative journey and provide opportunities for emerging talents.

Ben Vaughn, President and CEO of Warner Chappell Music Nashville, lauded Wallen’s songwriting craftsmanship, hailing him as one of the most significant songwriters of this generation. Vaughn emphasized the profound impact of Wallen’s compositions, including modern-day classics like “7 Summers” and “Thought You Should Know,” as well as impactful songs for other artists.

Jessi Vaughn Stevenson, Sr. Director, A&R and Digital at Warner Chappell Music Nashville, expressed excitement about collaborating with Wallen, highlighting his original and distinct songwriting style. Wallen’s album, “One Thing At A Time,” continues to dominate the charts, spending 18 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This achievement ties with Garth Brooks’ “Ropin’ the Wind” for the most weeks at No. 1 for a Country album. The album’s 6x-platinum single “Last Night” further solidifies Wallen’s impact, attracting over 1.5 billion streams globally and becoming the most-streamed song of any genre in the U.S. across Apple Music and Spotify.
