WILMINGTON, MA (CelebrityAccess) – Guitarist Brian “Head” Welch of KoRn has announced his partnership in the launch of Atlantic Behavioral Health, a treatment center providing intensive outpatient treatments in MA and NH. The center focuses on addressing anxiety, depression, and various mental health disorders, offering a supportive outpatient program that combines individual therapy, group therapy, and medication management.
Welch, who has battled mental health challenges himself, is deeply involved in this endeavor to guide those struggling to find help. Reflecting on his own experiences, he shares, “I will never, ever forget the depths of the dark energy that lived upstairs in my mind many years ago. It was truly like living in an emotional dungeon with zero light, and I couldn’t find the key to get out.”
The new center is another example of Welch’s mission of aiding in the support of physical and mental health, having previously opened a chain of Zivel wellness spas with Dr. Matt O’Neill, who had served as Korn’s physical therapist in 2017. Zivel was inspired by the therapeutic needs of recovering touring musicians.
For Welch, partnering with Atlantic Behavioral Health goes beyond a business venture; it’s a personal commitment. He recognizes the significance of the center’s work and believes in its potential to help individuals discover their “light switch.” Emphasizing his own journey and the big changes he’s experienced in the past two decades, Welch encourages the idea that with effort, anyone can positively impact their mental and emotional well-being.
Welch’s primary mission is now to provide support to others going through similar challenges. He highlights the value of community support, citing his own experience with a psychiatrist and expressing the need for a program like Atlantic that combines scholarly wisdom with conversations among peers facing similar issues.
Atlantic Behavioral Health’s Clinical Director, Greg Bacos, outlines the center’s approach, stating, “We create an individualized treatment plan that is reviewed monthly. Treatment consists of diagnostic assessment, medication management, individual and group therapy, and support for family members and significant others. The goal is to stabilize symptoms, improve functioning, and facilitate a return to community living, including working with families to assist.”
