LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – We Are Giant, the newly launched music community platform, has welcomed live music and entertainment executive David Rappaport to its board of directors. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Global Touring at AEG Presents, Rappaport brings a wealth of experience in event execution, artist relations, and fan engagement. He will serve as a strategic advisor to We Are Giant’s Founding CEO, Andy Apple, and the executive leadership team.
Rappaport is a respected industry professional with a rich live entertainment and artist relations background. Before his role at AEG Presents, he was Head of Artist Relations (Americas) at YouTube Music / Google, leading new education and strategy initiatives for artists, management companies, and agencies.
Apple, Founder and CEO of We Are Giant, expressed confidence in Rappaport’s leadership, stating, “David’s leadership and many years of experience executing deals – in addition to building deep relationships across genres – will contribute to our success as we continue to advance the music industry.” He emphasized Rappaport’s passion as a catalyst for creating more value for artists and their communities.
Rappaport shared his enthusiasm for joining We Are Giant, stating, “I’m passionate about breaking down the traditional walls that have prevented artists from reaching fans and creating community. I strongly believe that We Are Giant is the solution the industry has been waiting for to turn music conversation into connection. I’m incredibly proud to be on the board at its inception.”
This announcement follows We Are Giant’s recent launch in November, backed by leading investment management platform Sterling Partners, who invested nearly $8 million. We Are Giant’s platform aims to foster ad-free, safe, and centralized communities, offering licensed listening parties, exclusive live streams, interactive chat rooms, and more. Over 50 artists, ranging from major label signings to independent acts, have launched community channels on the platform, with 70 artist community channels to date. The platform has also hosted over 150 fan-led community events for various artists, including launching the first genre collective, The B-Side, for alternative music. Additional genre collectives are set to roll out in 2024.
