BREWSTER, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Mike Taylor, a longtime label executive and respected A&R veteran, known for his long tenure with UMG Australia, has died.
According to The Music Network, Taylor died on January 11 in Brewster, New York, after a long battle with cancer.
A veteran of the label world, Taylor joined Universal Music Australia in 2007 after a stint in New York at Epic Records, where he was the UMG imprint’s founding general manager.
Taylor was named managing director at UMA in 2014 and remained in the post until 2022 when he announced he was stepping down to focus on his treatment.
According to TMN, Taylor is survived by his wife Jenny and son Charlie. Funeral services will be held in New York along with a memorial event for friends in Sydney in the coming weeks.
