(CelebrityAccess) — The next Record Store Day has been officially announced and will take place on April 20, 2024.
For those not in the know, Record Store Day provides music fans with a way to support independently owned brick-and-mortar record stores, their employees, and the artists who work with them while coming together to celebrate the unique role that these stores play in their local communities.
The shops carry special vinyl and CD releases, and other promotional products, prepared specifically for Record Store Day and music fans will be able to take part in events such as performances, cook-outs, body painting, and meet & greets with artists, parades, among other activities.
The first Record Store Day took place in 2008 after a coalition of independent store owners sought to find a way to spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently-owned record stores and around the world.
Record Store Day is currently managed by Michael Kurtz and Carrie Colliton, in coordination with Andrea Paschal and Eric Levin.
