LONDON The Who’s Roger Daltrey announced plans to step down from his role of organizing the annual Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert series after more than two decades.

The shows have been taking place annually at Royal Albert Hall since 2000, raising millions to support the Teenage Cancer Trust’s missions of lessening the impact of cancer diagnosises on young people.

For his final year, Daltrey will perform two shows, backed by orchestras with The Who. The concert series will also see performances by The Chemical Brothers, Noel Gallagher, and Young Fathers.

The concert series for 2024 will end with a final show on March 24th which will feature Robert Plant, Paul Weller, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, the Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones, as well as Pete Townshend.

In a statement provided to the BBC, Daltrey said: “The £32m raised from these concerts has been the foundation for the 28 specialised units within the NHS, as well as specialist nurses and youth workers to be there for a young person when cancer has turned their world upside down.”

While he’s stepping down from his role as curator of the concert series, Daltrey will continue his affiliation with the organization as a Teenage Cancer Trust Honorary Patron.
