UNCASVILLE, CT (CelebrityAccess) — With a career that spans more than 5 decades, New England music legend David “Lefty” Foster will play his final show at the Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den on Friday night.

Foster and his veteran band The Mohegan Sun All-Stars (also known as the Shaboo All-Stars) were the longtime official ‘House Band’ of the Sun’s Wolf Den.

“David Forster and the Mohegan Sun All-Stars has been part of our entertainment family for 20 years when Mitchell Etess came up with the idea to form a house band for the locals and our many guests They have been a fixture ever since,” Tom Cantone President
Sports & Entertainment at Mohegan Sun told CelebrityAccess.

“David was inducted into the Wolf Den Wall of Fame, and he helped put what is now an award-winning venue on the map. We will be forever grateful for the many memories he’s created over the years,” Cantone added.

Foster, who is now 69, was best known as one of the owners of the Shaboo Inn in Willimantic, which for years provided one of the leading stages in the Northeastern US for traveling blues artists, including the likes of Buddy Guy, B.B. King and James Cotton.

Foster sold his stake in the venture in 1979, several years before the property closed but continued his career in music, performing with the Shaboo All-Stars and later with the Mohegan Sun All-Stars for more than 20 years.

Foster indicated that he’s battling health issues and is stepping away from performing reluctantly.

“I’m so against retirement. I hate retirement and I never considered myself a candidate for it,” Foster told the Middletown Press, noting, “I’m getting up in years and when you reach this age, anything can happen.”

“I feel blessed that I’ve had what I’ve already had,” Foster said. But right now, “I’m just going to do what the doctors tell me,” Foster added.
