(CelebrityAccess) — Disney’s “Frozen 2” continues its box office run, taking in a record-breaking $123.7 million in North American theaters over the 4-day holiday weekend.
Now in its second week, “Frozen 2” generated $85.25 million in North America from Friday through Sunday, a drop of just 35% from the previous week.
Internationally, the film earned $163.8M in 45 material territories, bring its week 2 worldwide global take over the weekend to $249.0 million.
Overall, “Frozen 2” has cumed $287.6 million in North American and $738.6 million globally in just 12 days of release.
Debuting in second place this weekend was Lionsgate’s “Knives Out” which generated an impressive $41.7 million over the five-day weekend. As well, “Knives Out” took $28.3M internationally for a total worldwide debut of $70M.
The murder mystery features a cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Ana de Armas, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and is directed by Rian Johnson.
Coming in third was Fox’s “Ford V. Ferrari” took in $19.0 million for 5-days. The film earned $10.2M in 48 material territories for a worldwide weekend of $23.4M and a global cume to date of $143.3M.
