CHINA (CelebrityAccess) – Taiwanese-Canadian model-actor Godfrey Gao passed away Wednesday, according to a statement released by his agency JetStar Entertainment.
The 35-year-old was on set filming a Chinese variety series in the city of Ningbo when he reportedly suffered a heart attack while running.
He was reportedly rushed to hospital, where he died after nearly three hours, according to JetStar’s statement.
Gao, who was born in Taiwan, began his career as a fashion model, rising to prominence as the first Asian male model for the luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton. He starred alongside Lena Headey and Lily Collins in the 2013 film “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” and became popular in China when he starred in “Remembering Lichuan” (2016), a television adaptation of a Chinese romance novel.
