CODY, Wyo. (CelebrityAccess) — Local zoning commissioners have put the kibosh on Kanye West’s plans to build a new amphitheater on his ranch in Wyoming.
According to the Associated Press, the Park County Planning and Zoning Commission denied a permit application for the proposed 70,000 square-foot ‘meditation’ amphitheater on Tuesday after Kanye revised plans for the amphitheater to include residential space.
The Cody Enterprise reported that county officials also took exception to the considerable construction Work west has already done at the site of the proposed amphitheater, despite the lack of a permit.
“That activity absolutely needs to stop,” Park County Planning and Zoning Director Joy Hill, per the Cody Enterprise. “We’re talking about significant ground movement and impact.”
Earlier this year, West ran afoul of zoning officials at his property in Calabasas, Calif., after he constructed a series of dome-shaped buildings. Ultimately, the domes were torn down after West refused to comply with L.A. County Department of Public Works building code.
