Australian pop sensation Tones and I stopped into The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform her smash hit single “Dance Monkey.”
For the performance, she started slowly with a moody, piano-driven take on the hit before transitioning away into a vocal performance backed by a track.
Tones and I, the nom de guerre of Toni Watson, scored her first major hit earlier this year with her debut single “Johnny Run Away” but her true breakout came in May with the release of “Dance Monkey” which broke the record for the most weeks at number one on the chart by an Australian act.
Dance Monkey also helped her to break through internationally, landing at the top of the charts in 27 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
She’s currently lined up for select festival dates in Australia, including the Spilt Milk festivals in Ballarat and Canberra, and the Bay of Dreams festival in New Zealand but we expect we’ll see her touring in the U.S. next year.
