(CelebrityAccess) — “Playing Games” singer-songwriter Summer Walker announced that she has pulled the plug on twenty dates of her current tour for mental health reasons.
In a video announcing the cancellation posted to her Instagram, Walker opened up about her battles with depression and social anxiety.
“I’m not going to be able to finish this tour because it doesn’t really coexist with my social anxiety and my introverted personality,” she said in the video. “I’m a person, I have feelings. I get tired, I get sad and it’s just a lot.”
“I want to give you all that I can, so I’m going to keep making music and I might do a few shows, but I can’t finish,” she continued.
Hey y’all as you know, I have been very open about my struggle with social anxiety. I want to continue to be healthy and to make music for y’all, so I have decided to cut down some of the dates on the tour. I’m grateful for every single one of you. I hope that you understand 🖤 pic.twitter.com/xkBvVnPMJq

Not every date was canceled and she still plans to perform nine shows in larger markets, including New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago.
Walker is riding high on the success of her 2018 mixtape “Last Day of Summer” and her 2019 studio debut “Over It” which peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 last month.
