ATLANTA, GA (CelebrityAccess) — On Saturday, Zac Brown Band was the headlining act at the eighth annual Night of Candles benefit show, helping to raise money for Camp Southern Ground.

The concert, which took place at The Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, raised more than $1 million to support programs aimed at both children and veterans at the camp.

Located about 30 miles south of Atlanta, Camp Southern Ground hosts an 8-week program that provides children ages 7-17, from all socioeconomic backgrounds, races, and religions, with a camping experience. Campers include typically developing children, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning and attention issues, social or emotional challenges and those with family members serving in the military.

During the rest of the year, Camp Southern Ground host programs aimed at veterans, including its signature program Warrior Week that helps veterans reacclimate to life as a civilian, and Warrior PATHH (Progressive Alternative Training for Healing Heroes), a clinical program that helps combat veterans grappling with PTSD, depression, anxiety and/or combat stress.

Proceeds from the benefit concert will support summer camp scholarships and veteran programming, which is provided at no cost to veterans. A large portion of the night was made possible by presenting sponsor The Home Depot Foundation, who made a generous donation to Camp Southern Ground to help with the construction of a residential village for veterans while they are on campus.
