LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – AWAL, Kobalt’s recording arm, has promoted Nicki Shamel to Vice President, Digital Sales & Account Management, North America, the company announced today (Oct. 18).
Based in Kobalt’s Los Angeles office, Shamel was previously Senior Director, Digital Sales & Account Management.
Since joining AWAL in 2017 as the team’s NY-based Director of Digital Sales & Account Management, Shamel has led the restructuring of AWAL’s digital team by doubling it in size to manage the more than 200% growth in monthly streams for artists including Lauv, Kim Petras, Omar Apollo, Snoh Aalegra and others. In addition, she has taken the lead on new opportunities with established global digital players like Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and more.
In this new role, Shamel will be tasked with overseeing AWAL’s digital strategy for all of North America.
