LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Create Music Group, one of the fastest growing music technology companies in the world, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the launch of its music publishing division.
Last year at this time, Create unveiled its new division with Tekashi 6ix9ine as one of its inaugural signings. 6ix9ine’s global hit “Fefe” was recently certified 8X Platinum by the RIAA and is the second largest selling single of 2018.
“One year in and we have clearly established our music publishing division as an important new service for our independent clients and a potent revenue stream for them as well,” said CMG Co-Founder and CEO Jonathan Strauss. “6ix9ine’s incredible performance has shown what a phenomenon he has been in popular culture. Our overall results show that we have a deep bench of writers who are busy creating tomorrow’s hits. We are very pleased with how far we’ve come in just one year.”
Other CMG publishing clients have also had massive hits over the past 12 months, including Tommy La Verdi (Alan Walker’s “Sing Me To Sleep”) Eduardo Juarez Hernandez (YNW Melly’s “Murder On my Mind”), and Nickalas Brian Turner (Trippie Redd’s “Bust Down,” “Romeo & Juliet”), among others.
Additionally, Create Music Group has been strategically acquiring copyrights, including the recent purchase of Crunk Inc.’s ownership interest in Crime Mob, which included such songs as “Knuck If You Buck” and “Juju On the Beat.
Altogether, Create music publishing clients have been streamed more than 35 Billion times within the last year across all major platforms.
Established in 2015, by Strauss and co-founder Alexandre Williams, Create Music Group got started by providing rights management services for chart topping artists such as Migos, Future, Lil Yachty, Wiz Khalifa, Trippie Redd, Post Malone and numerous others. Create acquired a best in class music distribution company, Label Engine in 2016 and currently administers music publishing for hundreds of artists in their catalog. The company currently monetizes more than 10 Billion music streams per month, a number that is rapidly growing.
