(CelebrityAccess) – A document distributed by the US Army says that officials have been warned about a credible threat for a mass shooting incident that will target next week’s release of the movie “Joker.”
According to KSWO, intelligence officials at Fort Sill received the memorandum says the information was originally published by the Travis County Sheriff’s office working on conjunction with the local field office of the FBI.
While the date Oct. 4th, the opening date for the movie, was mentioned in the warning, no specific movie theater was mentioned as a potential target.
The Associated Press reported that the warning was based on “disturbing” online chatter about the purported attack.
The threat carries particular resonance following the 2012 attack during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado that left twelve people dead and dozens injured.
