(CelebrityAccess) — The “King of Bachata” Romeo Santos drew record-breaking crowds for his headlining show at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, making hin the first Latin artist to fully sell the mammoth stadium out.
Santos performed 22 hits from his repertoire over the course of the four-hour show that also featured surprise guests the legendary bachateros Raulin Rodriguez, El Chaval, Zacarias Ferreira, Joe Veras, Elvis Martinez, Frank Reyes, Monchy & Alexandra, Luis Vargas & Kiko Rodriguez along with urban artists Ozuna and Wisin & Yandel.
For the closing set, Santos reunited with the members of his former Bachata group Aventura, who, along with rapper Cardi B, performed several of the group’s hit along with their latest single “Immortal.”
In all, Santos posted the highest grosses for any concert event at the stadium, dethroning the previous record holders, U2.
“Romeo Santos has solidified himself as one of the greatest Latin artists of the generation with his historic MetLife show,” said Hans Schafer, Head of Live Nation Latin. “This feat continues to show the power of Latin artists in the touring space and is a proud moment for Live Nation.”
