(CelebrityAccess) — In a repeat of a what should now be a familiar story, ratings for Sunday night’s Emmys broadcast on Fox tanked, with the award show’s viewership hitting an all-time low.

Fox’s broadcast averaged a 1.6 rating in the prime 18-49 demographic, with a total of 6.9 million viewers tuning into for the awards ceremony, according to Nielsen. Sundays figures represent a 32% decline in ratings from the Emmys broadcast in 2018, which took place on a Monday night on NBC and which attracted 10.2 million viewers

Sunday night’s Emmys viewership represent a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49, and mark a significant decline from 2018’s ratings, which were already at a record low for the awards show broadcast.

Last year, 10.2 million viewers tuned in overall for the broadcast on NBC and the last time Fox carried the awards show 11.87 million viewers tuned in.

Admittedly, the Emmys this year were up against some significant competition, with last year’s Super Bowl contenders the Los Angeles Rams squaring off against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday Night Football. Preliminary ratings also showed that CBS’s Big Brother came in at Big Brother 4.26 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49, while ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud attracted a 0.6 share.

The Emmys this year included no marque names as host of the festivities, plus, we all knew that Game of Thrones was going to win anyway.
