DETROIT, MI (CelebrityAccess) –Brooklyn-based hip-hop collective Beast Coast was forced to cancel a concert in Detroit on Sunday after police received multiple threats against the show.
Beast Coast was scheduled to perform at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights on Sunday night but canceled the event after a caller threatened to attack the venue.
According to the Detroit Free Press, police received a similar call about the now-defunct Palace of Auburn Hills and investigators believe the caller was the same individual in both cases.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office investigated the alleged threats and informed the venue and promoters about the matter, but was unable to determine how credible the threat was.
The Sheriff’s office was planning to bolster security at the event, but the show’s promoter 313 Presents eventually decided to pull the plug on the performance.
Beast Coast, which formed in 2012, includes members of Pro Era, the Flatbush Zombies, and The Underachievers. They are currently on the road in support of their debut album Escape from New York which they dropped in May.
