STOCKHOLM (CelebrityAccess) – Swedish prosecutors have dropped their investigation of a man they say was involved in a fight with Grammy-nominated rapper A$AP Rocky, according to The Associated Press.
The rapper and his bodyguards were arrested July 2nd and ordered held for two weeks after videos published on social media, showed a person being violently thrown onto the ground by Rocky.
Late last week, the rapper was ordered by Stockholm’s District Court to remain in pre-trial detention for an additional week to allow police to conclude their investigation into the June 30th altercation that took place in downtown Stockholm.
Rocky, who also posted his own videos online in which he and his team can be heard telling the victim “no one wants to fight you” and asking him to “go that way” and leave them alone, is claiming self-defense.
Prosecutors reportedly have until Thursday to make a decision on the investigation. Rocky’s lawyer says they will not be making any comment until then.
The high-profile case has drawn the attention of celebrities including A$AP Ferg, Post Malone, Miguel, Lil Yachty, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Tyga, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West. President Donald Trump also spoke with Sweden’s prime minister Saturday about the detained rapper.
