LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Kobalt’s indie label services division AWAL announced it has signed a worldwide deal with the iconic indie rock band, Cold War Kids.
The AWAL recordings deal covers a range of services, including global marketing, campaign coordination, synch licensing and global distribution.
Formed in 2004, the California-based Cold War Kids have released seven studio albums, including their 2006 major label debut “Robbers & Cowards” on V2, as well as multiple EPs, a live album and a recent ‘career retrospective’ which we used to call a greatest hits album back in the old days.
The band is also preparing for the release of their forthcoming album, New Age Norms, with the first singles “4th of July” and “Complainer” dropping on June 18th.
Lonny Olinick, AWAL CEO said of the deal, “Cold War Kids have established themselves as one of the most important alternative bands of this generation. Their latest album is a huge step forward and we’re proud to support them as they reach millions of new and current Cold War Kid fans across the globe with New Age Norms.”
