HONOLULU, Hawaii (CelebrityAccess) — Beth Chapman, star of the reality television show “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and wife and business partner to Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, died on Wednesday after a battle with cancer. She was 51.
Duane Chapman confirmed his wife’s passing via Twitter on Wednesday, writing: “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”
On Sunday, the family disclosed that Beth had been placed in a medically induced coma due to her failing health.
Beth Chapman first revealed that she’d been diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in September 2017, but several months later, her husband that treatments had been successful and that she was cancer free.
However, the cancer returned less than a year later and in May, she announced that she had stopped chemo.
The Chapmans first met in 1986 and dated for years before getting married in 2006. Together, she and Duane have two children and more than 10 others from previous relationships.
The Chapmans starred on the reality series “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt” which airs on CMT and shows the tribulations of life in the hurly-burly world of bounty hunters.
