LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — British pop icons The Spice Girls will be featured in an upcoming animated movie that casts the quintet as superheroes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie, which is in the works at Paramount, will feature voice acting from all five of the original Spice Girls and will be produced by Simon Fuller.
A director has not been attached to the film yet, but it is written by Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith who previously penned comedies such as Legally Blonde and House Bunny.
According to THR, the film will include hits from the Spice Girl’s heydey, as well as new material created by the group for the film.
“[The Spice Girls] are very involved,” Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria told the Hollywood Reporter.
Most of the Spice Girls — Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton — are on the road for a reunion tour, which kicked off in May. The group’s fifth member, Victoria Beckham, took a pass on rejoining her former compatriots for the run.
