LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAcess) — Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. announced he plans to turn himself into police after he was accused of groping a woman at a Manhattan bar on Sunday night.
In a video posted by TMZ, Gooding, who is 51, addressed a crowd of media outside of Los Angeles International Airport and conceded that he met fans at the bar and took photos with them but denied any inappropriate contact.
“I trust the system, let the process speak for itself,” Gooding said. “There’s a tape that shows what really happened.”
According to the New York Post, Gooding’s accuser, a 30-year-old woman, told police that an intoxicated Gooding grabbed her breast at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge on 7th Avenue on Sunday night. She alleges that after he grabbed her, she objected and an argument broke out which had to be interrupted by security at the bar.
An attorney representing Gooding told USA Today that the actor has not yet met with police, but his legal reps have negotiated an agreement for him to turn himself in to be arrested and arraigned on Thursday.
