(CelebrityAccess) — Promoter Danny Wimmer Presents kicked off what is shaping to be a solid festival season after reporting recording breaking attendance at their different festivals in May.

According to DWP, about 350,000 turned up for their slate of festivals in May, which included Welcome To Rockville in Jacksonville, FL May 3-5; the brand new Epicenter festival, which landed in Rockingham, NC from May 10-12; the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival in Columbus, OH May 17-19; and Chicago Open Air Presents in Bridgeview, IL May 18-19.

DWP said Welcome To Rockville was fully sold out for 2019, with more than 99,000 in attendance at the festival’s location Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. The fest featured a metal heavy lineup that included Tool, who used the gig to debut their first new music in 13 years, Korn, Rob Zombie, Judas Priest, and Papa Roach, who performed a tribute to The Prodigy, who dropped out of the lineup following the death of frontman Keith Flint.

The Epicenter Festival debuted at the purpose-built Rockingham Festival Grounds in Rockingham, NC over the course of May 10, 11 & 12, with more than 80,000 fans over the course three days. Performers included Foo Fighters, Korn, Evanescence, and the Crystal Method, among others.

Sonic Temple, which also debuted this year, was also fully sold out with more than 120,000 fans in attendance across three days at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH, from May 17 – 19th. The fest featured performances from Foo Fighters, System Of A Down, Disturbed, Ghost, Papa Roach, Lamb of God, and The Cult, who appropriately enough, performed several cuts of their album “Sonic Temple.”

The two-day Chicago Open Air Presents drew crowds of more than 50,000 to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL, with a bill that included Tool, System Of A Down, Ghost, The Cult, Gojira, Meshuggah and In This Moment.

This is the first festival season since Danny Wimmer Presents parted ways with their former partner, AEG Presents. For more views of the festival, check out the latest photo tour, which includes some great shots.
