JOHNSTOWN, PA (CelebrityAccess) — Venue management company SMG announced that Jason Blumenfeld has been named General Manager of the 1st Summit Arena At Cambria County War Memorial and the North Central Recreational Center.
Blumenfeld will be responsible for all aspects of management, including event booking, promotion and marketing, tenant relationships, operations, finance, sales, and community relations at the 4,000-seat arena and events center.
“Of the many candidates interviewed for the General Manager position, Jason stood out as by far the best choice. He has worked his way up the ladder in this business gaining valuable insight along the way. His knowledge of the industry, his attitude, and enthusiasm for the market and the facilities, and his significant experience in similar markets made him the obvious choice,” stated SMG Regional VP Bob Cavalieri.
Blumenfeld most recently served as the General Manager of the Talen Energy Stadium, an 18,000-seat facility which serves as the home of Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union.
Other roles for Blumenfeld include General Manager of Arenas in Abbotsford, BC; Glens Falls, NY; and Lewiston, ME, and as an Assistant General Manager in Columbia, SC and Buffalo, NY.
Blumenfeld is a 2003 graduate of Hofstra University. He and his wife, Jill, have family ties in the Pittsburgh area and are expecting their first child in September.
