ATLANTA (CelebrityAccess) — Wrestling icon Ric Flair has reportedly been hospitalized for an undisclosed but serious medical condition.
According to TMZ, the 70-year-old Flair was in Atlanta when he suffered from a medical emergency and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
While it’s not immediately clear what happened to Flair, a source told TMZ that it was “very serious.”
Wrestling news site Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Flair has been suffering from a heart condition and that his hospitalization was related to that.
However, other news sources, including pro wrestling podcaster Conrad Thompson said the situation was not as serious as TMZ indicated and suggested that the medical treatment was a planned procedure and had been scheduled around the Starrcast wrestling convention.
Flair has previously been candid about his battles with alcoholism and depression but said he has been sober in recent years.
