LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Film and television studio Lionsgate revealed plans to adapt the popular movie Twilight as a touring concert event.
The Twilight in Concert world tour will start in Brazil in August, with tour segments planned for Australia and the UK. The tour will feature a screening of the film with the musical score provided by a full orchestra instead of a soundtrack.
Twilight, which grossed $3.3 billion at the global box office, was adapted from the young adult novel by Stephenie Meyer. The novel, also called Twilight, puts a modern twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet story with the addition of sexy werewolves and vampires.
The film adaptation was directed by Catherine Hardwicke, from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg, and starred Stewart, Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
Twilight in Concert’s tour is the latest in a series of live-to-film concerts based on Lionsgate properties that include other young adult favorites like The Hunger Games, as well as musical films like Academy Award-winning La La Land.
