NIAGRA FALLS (CelebrityAccess) — Canadian Musician Magazine, a trade publication aimed at Canadian musicians and music professionals, is marking its 40th year as a going concern in 2019.
The magazine, which was first published in 1979 by Jim Norris, covers a range of subjects, from profiling, established and rising Canadian artists from the Guess Who and Rush to Avril Lavigne, Shad, and Marianas Trench.
The magazine also covers the Canadian music industry, including major industry news, recorded music, conferences, and the live touring sector.
Other content featured in the magazine includes instructional columns for musicians, songwriters, and audio engineers; as well as updates on the gear, tech, and trends in the touring industry.
The publication has also ventured into other modes of content delivery, including the Canadian Musician Radio podcast, a series of music business webinars in partnership with NWC Webinars, and CM Live sessions on Facebook with some of Canada’s leading industry figures.
“We published our first issue of Canadian Musician 40 years ago with one goal: to be Canada’s premier publication and a go-to resource for professional and amateur musicians and the industry that supports them,” says Jim Norris, Founder, and Publisher, Canadian Musician. “It’s been as thrilling as it has been fulfilling to work towards that goal in the decades since, and like the industry we’re proud to represent, now feels like the most exciting time in our history. Celebrating this milestone with so many passionate friends and partners from over the years is a great reminder of why we do what we do, and our team is freshly inspired to continue our mission in the years to come.”
