SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CelebrityAccess) – Embattled R&B artist R. Kelly gave a 28-second performance at a club in Springfield on Sunday, with fans paying up to $100 for admission to the show.
According to local news outlets WICS and WRSP, about 100 people were at the 450-person-capacity Dirty South Lounge for the show.
Kelly reportedly arrived at 1:30 a.m. and thanked fans for turning out before performing a line from one of his songs.
He then spent about 35 minutes in an ad-hoc meet-n-greet, taking pictures and shaking hands with fans.
The club charged a $100 entrance fee, which dropped to $50 once R. Kelly arrived, the stations reported.
Some fans expressed discontent with the short performance, noting that they were unlikely to have paid for such a brief ‘show’ the WCIS/WRSP said.
“I really think his camaraderie was very good to be able to socialize with the general population, but I don’t understand why we paid $100 and we didn’t hear him sing not one song,” one fan,
