LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Live Nation Urban has today (April 1) revealed the details for its fifth annual Summer Block Party Festival.
Since its launch in 2015, Summer Block Party has set the pace for R&B and soul-centric festivals. It has sold out every year and steadily grown with lineups consisting of a mix of genre legends and the next generation of R&B stars. Previous lineups boasted everyone from Erykah Badu and Jazmine Sullivan to Miguel, Babyface, Ludacris, Ledisi and SWV among others.
In addition to once again making stops in Philadelphia, Houston, and Chicago, this year will mark the festival’s first ever Dallas engagement.
The 2019 series will see Grammy Award-winning singer Jill Scott headline all four dates. Grammy Award-nominated soul songstress and hometown hero Jazmine Sullivan will join the bill as direct support for the Philadelphia concert on June 29, while soul icon Faith Evans and Tweet will round out the lineup for the Dallas engagement July 5. Boyz II Men and rising star Lucky Daye will take to the stage in Houston on July 6, and Anthony Hamilton, MA$E, and Carl Thomas will perform when the festival touches down at its original Chicago site, Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, on July 13.
Tickets will be available on Friday, April 5 at 10 am local time.
