AUSTRALIA (CelebrityAccess) – Nominees for the 13th AIR Music Awards, the annual celebration of Australia’s independent music community, have been announced with Courtney Barnett and Gurrumul leading the way.
Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Barnett has earned nods in the best independent artist, best independent album or EP and best independent single categories, while Gurrumul earns posthumous nominations for best independent artist, best independent album or EP and best independent classical album.
Other artists earning multiple nominations this year include Confidence Man, Emily Wurramara, Laura Jean, Methyl Ethel, and Julia Jacklin.
Winners of the 2019 AIR Music Awards will be announced by the Australian Independent Record Labels Association during a ceremony at Adelaide’s Freemasons Hall in July.
