PITTSBURGH, PA (CelebrityAccess) — Country music icon Garth Brooks is on track to shatter the attendance record for Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field after his upcoming concert at the stadium has fully sold out.
Brooks is scheduled to perform at Heinz Field on May 18th as part of his upcoming stadium tour, which kicks off on March 9th at The Dome At Americas Center in St. Louis.
“The in-the-round seating for Garth allows for every seat in the stadium to be open, whereas most of the other shows we have to close off any seats in the south end and south corners,” Nick Sero, communications manager at Heinz Field, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “This show also has a bit of a larger group of people on the floor.”
The previous record at Heinz Field was set on September 10th, 2016 when 69,983 fans turned out for a football game between the University of Pittsburgh vs Penn State University.
As for concerts, Taylor Swift held the previous record when she drew a crowd of 56,445 for her 2018 concert at the stadium.
The show will be Brooks’ first stadium gig in Pittsburgh and his first visit to the market since 2015 when he played a two night stand at Consol Energy Center.
