NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) KISS has announced it will give food to workers of the Transportation Security Administration as they await pay during the government shutdown.
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, who own the Rock & Brews restaurant chain, said they will feed TSA workers for free.
“While the TSA continues to work on our behalf without pay, we want to make sure we can at least provide them with a delicious meal to show our support,” Stanley said in a Facebook post.
“This is horrific,” Stanley said in an interview with CNN. “The problem is when you’re leveraging the government and you’re shutting it down — who is the government?”
“The government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Who are you hurting? You’re hurting the people. These are the people who make this country what it is,” he added. “People need to put their political affiliation aside and the priority has to be to get people back to work, back on the payroll,” he added. “And then, let’s figure out what the solution is.”
“Thank you so much for your generosity,” said one commenter. “We do not have any Rock &Brew restaurants in Indiana, but your kindness and thoughtfulness toward my TSA family warms my heart. Again, manythanks.”
Rock & Brews has 22 locations, two of which are in airports – LAX and Ontario, Calif.
Meanwhile, John Prine and Oh Boy Records fed TSA Records at the Nashville airport.
