LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) Drake has secured a multiyear Las Vegas residency, where he will play at the XS nightclub inside the Wynn casino and hotel for more than $10 million.
Drake will play a minimum of 10 shows at the nightclub as part of the agreement, according to The Blast. He hinted at the residency while playing at the nightclub Jan. 10, telling the crowd, “When I came back, I thought it’d be back at T-Mobile Arena or [something]. But I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lot of chances to see me.”
More than 4,800 people watched that performance and it scored the hip-hop star $2 million, more than double the single-night record at XS, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The paper also said Drake agreed to perform 12 shows over a two-year span and, last month, a representative for the club said, “We look forward to the opportunity to discuss more [Drake] performances for the future.”
Drake will join the like of Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and, presumably, Britney Spears, as residents of Glitter Gulch.
