HONOLULU (CelebrityAccess) Malani Bilyeu, 69, founding member of local Honolulu band Kalapana, died of a heart attack Dec. 27.
The band was formed in the 1970s and had a string of hits including “When The Morning Comes,” “Naturally” and “You Make It Hard,” according to KHON-News
Bilyeu formed the band with D.J. Pratt, Mackey Feary and Kirk Thompson. Kalapana went on to become one of the most popular bands in the history of the Hawaiian Islands, according to their label, Manifesto Records.
