LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) A big co-bill of Neil Young and Bob Dylan at Hyde Park in the UK next July may sound like a fun day outside but, to Young, the announcement is a “major fuck up.”

Young posted on his site to the subscriber-only Neil Young Archives that the July 12 show was announced Nov. 27 without his approval, although it was in sight, even though he has extreme discomfort with the sponsor, Barclays.

“”You….. who were taken by surprise waking up to the BOB DYLAN/ NEIL YOUNG – HYDE PARK CONCERT announcement posted on every outlet except NYA (Neil Young Archives), might wonder why it was not on NYA… and you should. We’re sorry,” Young wrote. “Like you, I had no idea the announcement was coming that day [November 27]. I was still finessing the art for the poster and trying to make sure that all of the details of the show were agreeable to me. Then, suddenly, someone jumped the gun. The tickets were put on sale and the announcement was made, all without my knowledge.”

He said he was angry that the subscribers were not the first to know of the show and did not have first dibs to pre-sale tickets. He said he only learned of sponsor Barclays Bank after the fact.

“That doesn’t work for me,” he said. “I worry about the Climate Crisis and am deeply concerned about its massive global ramifications and my beautiful grandchildren’s future.

“There’s no doubt about it – It’s been a massive fuck up!”

Young said his team is working on rectifying the situation and will update the status of the Hyde Park show.
