(CelebrityAccess) – Warner Music Group-owned digital media and content company UPROXX has appointed media veteran Charlie Corwin to its new advisory board.
Corwin, who is the first member of UPROXX’s newly created advisory board, will be tasked with leading the company’s expansion into film, television, and advertising.
Corwin got his start in the business by co-founding internet startup and popular video streaming site, Live Music Channel. Later he co-founded movie and television production company Original Media, which has since been responsible for producing a number of acclaimed feature films and successful American TV series including Miami Ink, Swamp People and Storm Chasers among others.
Corwin comes to the position from his most recent post as CEO of Imagine Entertainment.
Commenting on the appointment, Corwin said: “UPROXX has an amazing brand and thriving platform. Their loyal audience wants premium programs and UPROXX has responded with an award-winning studio. Now with the acquisition by Warner Music, our goal is to become a top tier creator of original content. I’m honored to work with the talented folks at UPROXX and Warner Music to deliver on that mission.”
UPROXX CEO Benjamin Blank added: “Charlie has been at the helm of some of the biggest brands in entertainment and is a known innovator.
“We’re now living in an era when more traditional platforms must merge with new ones. As such, it’s critical to have leaders who can see three or four moves ahead. Charlie is one of those people, and we’re thrilled to have him as part of our team.”
