LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Country music star Darius Rucker just wrapped his, brief but fully sold-out tour of the UK with a performance at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.

Rucker’s six-date run, which included stops in Birmingham, Glasgow, Gateshead, Bristol, and Manchester before landing at the Royal Albert for the final show.

I had always wanted to go back to Europe for a tour, and to play the Royal Albert Hall was near the top of my bucket list,” said Rucker. “I saw the Black Crowes there and four or five other shows when we were in town and had a day off and I was blown away by the venue. When the opportunity came about for us to go back and play it as part of this tour I said yes instantly.”

Rucker’s London show was the first performance in the city since last year’s Country2Country Festival.

Formerly the frontman and lead guitarist of the rock band Hootie & The Blowfish, Rucker recast himself in 2008 as a country music artists, signing with Capitol Nashville for the release of Learn To Live, which spawned three number one singles.

The success of Learn to Live made Rucker the first African-American artist to score a number one single on the country charts since Charley Pride’s 1980 it There’s a Little Bit of Hank in Me.
