DENVER (CelebrityAccess) – Ween guitarist, Dean Ween, has announced plans to open a weed-friendly music venue in Denver, reports the Denver Post.
The venue would be named Dean Ween’s Honeypot Lounge and would be located near Coors Field, according to chief operating officer Michael Polansky, who proposed the plan at a city meeting earlier this week.
“I think cannabis and music make total, total sense together,” Polansky told the Post. “We think that we can offer a unique kind of musical experience for Denver and the world.”
According to the Post, the group hasn’t yet applied for the city license that would allow marijuana consumption in the venue, however, they are hoping that the space will double as “a consumption site with educational and wellness programs” that run during the daytime, and serve as the “nation’s first social consumption music venue” at night.
If approved, Ween would serve as the venue’s entertainment director, while former Phish road manager Brad Sands will also sit on the proposed venue’s board.
Ween and co. are aiming for an April 20, 2019 launch.
