LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — British Grime MC Stormzy has been announced as the first headlining act for the 2019 return of the Glastobury Festival.
According to a tweet from Glasto organizers, Stormzy will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 28th.
Stormzy’s Glastonbury appearance is the latest milestone in the rapper’s ascent since he first broke through in 2015 with his hit “Shut Up.”
Since then, he’s released his debut album, 2017’s Gang Signs & Prayers, which topped the charts and earned him two Brit Awards.
Glastonbury returns in 2019 after taking a “fallow” year in 2018 and will take place from June 26-30.
More than 200,000 tickets to the festival sold out in hours after going on sale in October.
