(CelebrityAccess) – South Korean boy band BTS has this week broken yet another record becoming the first Korean act to surpass 1 billion streams on Apple Music.
As one of the most globally popular acts of the day, BTS has broken countless records already including being the 1st Korean act to top the Billboard 200––a feat they’ve accomplished twice in 2018 alone––and being the first Korean group to receive a gold certification from the RIAA. The septet also had the first Korean album to enter the official U.K. album charts, they have the most Twitter engagements of any musical group in history, and they were the first Korean group to be invited to speak at the United Nations among countless other things.
BTS is currently in the middle of their Love Yourself world tour, which has sold out over 20 shows in South Korea, and in several North American and European countries.
Up next is the sold-out Japenese leg of the tour, which kicks off at the Tokyo Dome on November 13.
Also this week, BTS’ new collaboration with Steve Aoki “Waste It On Me” debuted in the Hot 100. You can check that out below.
