NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) The details of an incident at a Manhattan restaurant involving the crew of Tekashi69 have shifted, with law enforcement sources now telling TMZ that a member of the Tek’s crew instigated an altercation that led to one of the rapper’s bodyguards getting shot in the stomach.
Tekashi69 was apparently celebrating a court decision earlier that day that kept the rapper out of a possible four-year prison sentence, although TMZ has reported the restaurant visit was actually for a dinner with record exec Elliot Grainge. Grainge was reportedly waiting for the rapper with two bodyguards, retired NYPD detective Efrain Vasquez and Maurice Fernandez.
Initial reports had two unidentified people attempting to force themselves inside the restaurant, which led to one of the rapper’s security guards getting shot. Sources now tell TMZ that Tekashi and his entire entourage of seven people never entered the restaurant after Fernandez told the crew they were not allowed inside. 6ix9ine called off the meeting, then left, but some of the crew allegedly stayed behind with one shouting, “F*** this, I”m getting inside!”
Vasquez and Fernandez were both eventually outside when Tek crewmember Shottie, real name Kefano Jordan, allegedly told them “I’m going to violate you both with gunshots.” The situation escalated to the point of a chair striking Vasquez, with two witnesses saying Shottie was the one who did it. A member of the crew apparently pulled up his shirt and reached for something in his waistband, leading Vasquez to fire two shots with one hitting a member of Tekashi’s crew in the stomach.
Everyone scattered, sources told TMZ, and two of Tekashi’s associates, Faheem “Crippie” Walter and Zachary Bunce, eventually arrested, with Shottie still on the loose.
The incident occurred just hours after a judge told the rapper to stay out of trouble.
